Our Mission Statement:

The mission of Calvary
Baptist Church is to; glorify God and extend His kingdom by first living and then
proclaiming His word in the world.

By this we seek to minister to the spiritual needs of the world through our preaching and to show mercy to those people who are in distress.

Apostle’s Creed

We believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Calvary Baptist church is a fundamental Southern Baptist church.

Fundamental, refers to the idea that we hold strictly to the basic fundamentals of the true Christian faith. These basic foundational truths are eloquently summed up in the “Apostle’s Creed”, as seen to the left.

Southern Baptist refers to the fact that we as a congregation were founded and remain loyal to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. These beliefs have been held by some of the great Christians of yesterday (men like; Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, John Gill, and the Prince of Preachers himself Charles H. Spurgeon.) and today (men like; Don Whitney, John Piper, John MacArthur Jr.RC Sproul and my personal mentor Dr. R.A. Hargrave, pastor of my former church Riverbend Community Church).

Church, is the final demonstration in words as to what we believe. We are a church, "ἐκκλησία, ekklēsia" in the greek, "The called out ones". A covenant community centered on one theme – “The Holy Bible”. We do not meet together to discuss politics or current events. We meet to bring honor to the name of Christ and to magnify the Father to the best of our abilities. We have been called by God for a specific purpose. Namely, to bring glory to Jesus the Christ.

If you have any questions concerning our beliefs feel free to write our pastor, or just come this Sunday.
